Few crafts carry the mystique of the ancient art of distilling. Said to have begun in the ancient Orient as a way to create perfume, the distillation technique was carried to the Celts who used it to make their usquebagh or “water of life.” Today the tradition is continued by Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company to create fine spirits in the heart of Kentucky.
